Rotary Club Saving lives with stem cells
Rotary Club Saving lives with stem cells
A club not just for those who have already experienced saving a life just because they once put a cotton bud in their mouth.
Saving lives can be so simple. And yet many people are unaware that donating stem cells no longer requires a complex procedure. Organizations such as the DKMS are working tirelessly to create the conditions for ordinary people to become superheroes. After all, what else can you call someone who has saved a life? The Rotary Club Leben retten mit Stammzellen is set to become another ally of the typing movement.
Would you like to be part of it? Then please get in touch with us.

Rotary Club Living Democracy
Rotary Club Living Democracy
Who are we and what motivated us to found a Rotary Club with the theme Living Democracy?
We are 12 women and 12 men from the Hochtaunus district, Berlin and Munich and founded the first theme club in District 1820 in April 2025. Some of us were already Rotarians, other friends are new members. Couples and family members can also become a member of our club. The youngest is in his early 30s, the oldest 81 years old. Since our establishment, we have already received a number of inquiries from people interested in joining.
We do not want to remain inactive in the face of the increase in right-wing populist to right-wing extremist, anti-democratic discourse, the multitude of hate and false information in public and online. Our democracy is in danger of being destroyed if it also loses support in society.
What do we stand for?
We want to actively counteract these worrying developments in order to not only protect our democracy, but also bring it to life by standing up for it as part of this democracy and promoting its protection. We therefore want to strengthen our democracy through education and the teaching of democratic values such as human dignity, freedom, tolerance, respect and inclusion.
How do we do this?
We want to engage courageously and resolutely. We see important content in confronting enemies of democracy, teaching lessons from German history and the fight against forgetting, and strengthening the exercise of human and civil rights. We want to promote this content with different target and age groups. So not only children / young people / young voters, but also adults and older people. We take a hands-on approach and seek direct dialogue, but we also want to promote and strengthen the work of the numerous civil society organizations and associations.
What is special about our theme club?
We maintain a friendly atmosphere like many other clubs, but work together in a networked and sometimes decentralized manner across several locations in order to achieve our goals. Our meetings take place at different locations, always hybrid. We communicate and work together digitally to a large extent. We promote projects “agilely” in small “task teams”.
What do we offer, what do we want?
We seek and offer networking and contacts around the topic of protecting democracy and understand this as a contribution to living democracy. This is not only a challenge, but also a great opportunity to realize Rotary goals and ideals. Protecting democracy is our contribution to “service above self”.
We look forward to many contacts and like-minded people along the way.

Rotary Club Elementary Education
Rotary Club Elementary Education
Over 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That is 17 percent of the world’s adult population.
Our goal is to anchor education sustainably in communities so that people can take responsibility for their own education. We want people to be able to learn freely and equally, without gender discrimination.
We have founded a German-speaking club on this topic.

Here you can find more information about Rotary’s focus on elementary education (please click).erpunkt Elementarbildung bei Rotary (bitte klicken).

Rotary Satellite Club Bonn International Peace & Environment
Rotary Satelliten-Club Bonn International Peace and Environment
Host-Club: RC Bonn International
Origin
In the summer of 2023, a small group of committed Rotarians came up with the idea of forming a new, active Rotary Club with a thematic focus on the two major topics of “peacebuilding” and “environmental protection”.
Organization and anchoring
In order to allow the new club to grow organically, the initiators wanted to start with a small group of members and look for other suitable members over time. For this approach, Rotary offers the possibility of founding a Satellite Club of an established Rotary Club with eight Rotarians. RC Bonn International, a relatively young club (founded in 2016) with presently 44 committed members from different countries, was the ideal host club. The club language of RC Bonn International is English. The satellite club P&E is also set to develop internationally in the future, in any case with a reach beyond national borders. For the start, however, the club language is German because the majority of the members are German-speaking.
Skills and content orientation
The membership of the Satellite Club is deliberately heterogeneous. We believe that different professional groups, backgrounds and skills lead to a more accurate view of our world and to more balanced and sustainably effective projects. The team includes people who like to approach the topic scientifically, others who prefer to organize practical projects and still others who want to take care of public dissemination. The group combines social skills with relevant relationships in society and IT expertise. We want to achieve our objectives as a team and learn from each other. Unlike the majority of established Rotary Clubs, the Satellite Club will focus on an electoral theme: Peace-building and environmental protection – and above all with “the in-between”. The satellite club will focus on the complex interdependencies between peacebuilding and environmental protection. Against the backdrop of Rotary’s fundamental values, the members would like to work out the essential causal relationships and present them in a clear and comprehensive way in order to sensitize as many people as possible to our potential influence. They also want to design projects (blueprints for grant projects) and in some cases implement them themselves that have a positive impact in our world. The Rotarian community should be used for the outreach of the activities.
What has happened so far
Since December 2023, around 12 out of 30 people who are fundamentally interested in this topic have been meeting virtually on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month to get to know each other better and make friends on the one hand, and to crystallize a common line and derive concrete project activities from it on the other.
In the meantime, some basic papers on the topics of “aggression”, “positive peace” and “complexity” with a certain scientific basis have been produced and discussed, which have laid the foundation for the group’s further work. It was decided that the first ambitious project would be to design and develop a cybernetic, web-based game to illustrate awareness of the consequences of our actions in complex interdependencies and to demonstrate our influence on changes in our world. Our aim is to encourage people to rethink and change course in a way that promotes peace and protects the environment. In doing so, we have opted for the perspective of each individual, not that of the “state leaders”.
Outlook
In July 2024, the eight founding members will charter the Satellite Club, sponsored by RC Bonn International. The statutes for the Satellite Club have already been drawn up.
The Satellite Club is expected to grow to >20 members within a year by accepting further suitable members (Rotarians and non-Rotarians). In due course, the satellite club can be converted into a themed Rotary Passport Club. By converting to a Passport Club, the non-Rotarian members will have the opportunity to be accepted by the club as Rotarians. We want our initiative to have a lasting impact with a wide reach.

Rotary Club Holidays for Children
Rotary Club Holidays for Children
The most successful Rotaract project in Germany of all time has grown from a one-off event into a nationwide and even international permanent project: KidsCamp.
Year after year, hundreds of people are committed to ensuring that disadvantaged children can have a great vacation. The level of professionalism in the organization of the many KidsCamps is remarkable. Countless committed people return year after year, because once they have experienced the magic of this great project, they become part of a family. Many of these people are already Rotary members because they are Rotaract or Rotary enthusiasts. But there are many who are not yet members. And we would like to make them an attractive offer with this club, which is intended to unite all KidsCamp enthusiasts.
We celebrated our charter in December 2024. Now our club life has begun. Anyone interested in becoming a member of our club is welcome to contact us. Maybe we are a good match.

Rotary Club Interact 101
Rotary Club Interact 101
The first Rotary club with 101% focus on Interact
Interact
Interact is one of Rotary International’s most successful programs worldwide. For more than 60 years, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 have been involved in Interact clubs and have made a valuable contribution to the community worldwide. Interact Clubs are also a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn social and socially relevant values and take on responsibility in an intimate community of their peers.
The goal
We would now like to promote this commitment more strongly in German-speaking countries by founding a Rotary Club that is all about Interact. From this Rotary Club, we want to inspire pupils, parents and teachers to found an Interact Club and support them with our experience in order to guarantee a sustainable club life.
The vision
Our name says it all: we want to reach 101 Interact Clubs in German-speaking countries. Given that the number of Interact Clubs has remained fairly constant for years at around 40, this is certainly an ambitious goal. However, in view of the enormous potential that Interact Clubs offer for young people on the one hand and for the general public on the other, it is also a goal that is worth working towards.
The challenge
What opportunities does this club offer Rotary that didn’t exist before? It is true that for years there have been repeated efforts at various levels to promote Interact and pave the way for young people to join Interact clubs. While this works wonderfully in some places and club life has been enormously successful, there are difficulties in other places when it is not possible to continuously welcome younger people back after older members have left.
The approach
The special thing about our approach is that by bringing together people with an Interact background from different areas of society in the Rotary Club Interact 101, an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience is created. This idea is also reflected in the number “101”, which is often used in the US education system to designate basic introductory courses. This is also our claim: “Rotary Club Interact 101” introduces the world of Interact as a sustainable constant and teaches the essential basics for founding a club and a sustainably successful club life.
This does not affect the existing initiatives at various levels that have already been established to support Interact. The Rotary Club Interact 101 strives for a fruitful cooperation with them, which further simplifies the transfer and preservation of information.
Club life
The club is organized as an e-club, meaning that club meetings are held via video platforms. However, there will certainly also be occasional face-to-face meetings. In addition to the Interact activities, there will also be room for many other ideas from the members. Although the club has a clear focus, it is also open to other opportunities to do good together. The members themselves will decide what this will be when the club is founded.
And you? Are you in?
The Rotary Club Interact 101 is open to all those who are interested in Rotary and would like to make a targeted commitment to Interact. Whether you are an Interact alumni, a member of Rotex, Rotaract* or Rotary* or even a complete “Rotary newcomer” – everyone is welcome.
Are you over 18 and want to join us? Then get in touch with us! We can hardly wait to hear the ideas of our future members. Because together we are strong.
*Are you already a member of a Rotaract or Rotary Club? No problem: In coordination with your club, a second membership with us is also possible.

Rotary Club for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
Rotary Club for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
We believe that promoting diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) should be part of everything we do at Rotary.
We can do this internally as well as externally. There are already clubs that have explicitly dedicated themselves to this topic, for example the Rotary Club Semper Apertus Germany. If you are interested in becoming a member, please get in touch. Click here to go to the club’s website (please click).
If you would also like to found a club in this field, please contact us.

Here you can find more information about DEI at Rotary (please click).
And here we have embedded a video on the topic:

There are already German-speaking Rotary clubs that are oriented towards the first focus of the Rotary Foundation: peacebuilding. We would also like to found a club that is at least hybrid, possibly only online, and that explicitly names itself as a peace club.
