Rotary Club Strong Democracy
Plans to establish a thematic club with the working title “STRONG DEMOCRACY” are progressing well.
In times of profound shifts in values and tangible challenges to our democratic order, we believe this new club format is particularly well-suited. It could be of particular interest to highly qualified individuals who wish to work conceptually on important issues of our coexistence in democracy and freedom beyond local and regional boundaries. In other words, people who want to join forces with others to find solutions for securing, preserving, and further developing a livable, lovable, and strong democracy—and who are willing to take concrete action to achieve this.
We are confident that we will be able to hold the charter celebration for the new themed club this summer. We would like to host this event—in a spirit of deep solidarity and in recognition of the special significance of our Rotary clubs in Saxony-Anhalt—in Magdeburg, if possible.
To address this and other questions regarding our democratic coexistence, we established the topic “Rotary in a Changing World of Values” in the district last year and entrusted it to the capable hands of our Rotary friend PDG Franz Rainer Enste (fraraiens@gmx.de); RC Langenhagen-Wedemark. Friend Enste—to whom we are already deeply indebted—welcomes further support and, at present, particularly welcomes suggestions for suitable individuals who might be considered as additional qualified candidates to expand our Rotary circle for the thematic club.
Please feel free to contact him directly.
