Rotary Club for Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention
Today, 70 million people are displaced from their homes as a result of conflict, violence, persecution and human rights violations. Half of them are children.
We refuse to accept this reality of brutal violence and immeasurable human suffering as inevitable. Rotary’s peace projects use targeted conflict resolution strategies and offer conflicting parties ways out of entrenched enmities.
Rotary builds peace
As a humanitarian organization, peace is a cornerstone of our mission. We believe that when people who are committed to building peace in their communities, that change can have a global impact. By providing peace grants and implementing aid projects, our members tackle the root causes of conflict: Poverty, discrimination, ethnic tensions, uneducation and unequal distribution of resources. We ask ourselves how we can achieve the greatest possible impact for the future. And how we can do justice to our vision statement.
Our commitment to peacebuilding is the answer to these challenges of realizing our vision of lasting peaceful change. In doing so, we are approaching the concept of peace systematically and holistically, broadening the scope of what we mean by peacebuilding and finding more opportunities for people to get involved.
In short: Rotary creates an environment in which peace becomes possible.

There are already German-speaking Rotary clubs that are oriented towards the first focus of the Rotary Foundation: peacebuilding. We would also like to found a club that is at least hybrid, possibly only online, and that explicitly names itself as a peace club
